BLOOD FORSAKEN KICKS OFF DIVICA, NEW FANTASY SERIES
Award winning author Star Davies recently released Blood Forsaken,
a prequel to the Divica books.
New to the novel publishing industry, Davies hopes to find a firm place
in the tough publishing market for her high fantasy series, Divica.
"Divica is a world not far fetched from our own," Ms. Davies stated.
"They go through their cycles of prosperity and recession. The big difference is, of course, the use of the Essence, a form
of magic from which people 'tap' into the elements of the world around them to cast spells. The Essence is a force that keeps
the world functioning properly on all levels. When that force starts edging toward extinction the world leaders send their
best fighters and mages to find a way to save it."
There is much more to the series, but Davies was not willing to tell
too much too soon.
Blood Forsaken takes place 200 years before the five book
series. According to Davies, the story is an important piece of history that could not be left unwritten. There are characters
who are key to the series that could only be introduced in the prequel.
In Blood Forsaken, Narcysius, eldest and heir to the Dragon
throne, becomes more desperate to quench his blood thirsty appetite. Only one has the courage to stop him... His brother,
Tiberius. Once Tiberius states clearly that he intends to halt his brother's dark plans to start a war he is jokingly asked,
"What do you plan to do? Kill your own brother?" The look he
gives in response is less than mirthful.
Before
the end, Narcysius' tricks and deceptions leave Tiberius with only one choice.

Forsaken (ISBN 1434898962) is available online in trade paperback from Divica Press.

LARGE PRESS PUBLISHERS BEWARE!
Options for Serious Writer Eliminates Need for Traditional Publishing
After years of fighting for an inch in the publishing world, Star Davies finally found her solution. Instead
of trying to push her way into the traditional publishing market, Star began doing her own research and discovered that Print
on Demand (POD) publishing was well worth the time.
A local author from Beloit, Wisconsin, Star discovered a way to create her own publishing imprint in early 2008 in order to
get her novel, Blood Forsaken, out to the public.
This opened a whole new world. Star had the opportunity to do what she always wanted to do, create her
own imprint, Divica Press, and publish her books at her own pace, by her own rules. This brave move has her looking into other
options.
"I am currently looking into distribution warehouses, such as Baker & Tayler," she stated. "In order
to make Divica Press a real asset for myself, I need to consider warehouse distribution centers so that my books can be made
available in national chains like Borders and Barnes & Noble."
